Montréal, le 17 avril 2023. Communautique, en collaboration avec le Comité consultatif des Premières Nations et Inuit relatif au marché du travail, avec le soutien des Services éducatifs du Conseil en éducation des Premières Nations, lance le projet « Les métiers d’avenir inspirés du Fab Lab ». Ce projet de formation sur les possibilités de métiers d’avenir inspirés des pratiques en Fab Lab rejoint les jeunes, principalement des écoles secondaires, des Premières Nations et Inuit. Il est réalisé grâce au soutien financier du ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie dans le cadre du programme NovaScience.
« Notre gouvernement est fier de collaborer avec Communautique à la promotion de carrières stimulantes pour les jeunes, notamment en science et en technologie. Nous avons besoin d’une relève diversifiée et pleinement investie dans le développement économique et social du Québec, et ça commence par des initiatives inspirantes comme celle-ci », souligne le ministre responsable des Relations avec les Premières Nations et les Inuit, M. Ian Lafrenière.
Le projet entend stimuler l’innovation et le développement des compétences dans le secteur numérique en offrant une animation exploratoire aux étudiantes et étudiants des Premières Nations et Inuit abordant les compétences essentielles liées à des métiers clés de l’avenir.
Le programme de formation se décline à travers quatre présentations interactives et aborde les thématiques suivantes :
- Découverte du domaine du moulage, de la préhistoire à l’impression 3D
- Introduction au design
- Ouverture sur l’univers du textile et de la mode
- Initiation au monde de l’électronique, des signaux aux circuits
Le projet ouvre la discussion autour des métiers d’avenir : quels métiers ont le plus de sens pour les jeunes, sont utiles à leur communauté et à la société, sont connectés au réel et qui perpétuent les savoir-faire dans les territoires. Le projet permet d’ouvrir les opportunités pour les jeunes d’innover que ce soit dans la forêt, pour voir perdurer leur culture, pour préserver le territoire.
Parce qu’ils forment des jeunes à la fabrication numérique par le « faire », en intégrant les défis environnementaux, les Fab Labs innovent et réinventent le savoir-faire. Ils inspirent déjà les métiers de demain, des métiers à la croisée du numérique et des activités traditionnelles qui sont déterminés à la fois par le potentiel numérique et les grands enjeux sociétaux.
Communautique œuvre depuis 23 ans à la démocratisation de l’accès aux technologies dans une perspective de développement économique, culturel et social. Il est précurseur tant pour l’arrivée des Living Labs que pour l’avènement des Fab Labs au Québec.

Montréal, April 17th, 2023. Communautique, in collaboration with the First Nations and Inuit Labour Market Advisory Committee and with the support of the Educational Services of the First Nations Education Council, launches the “Careers of Tomorrow inspired by the Fab Lab” project. This educational project opens up possible Careers of Tomorrow inspired by the Fab Lab practice for youth, mainly from First Nations and Inuit secondary schools. The project is made possible with the financial support from the ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie through the NovaScience program.
“Our government is proud to collaborate with Communautique with a view to promoting exciting careers for young people, particularly in the science and technology fields. We need a new and diverse generation of workers who are fully invested in Québec’s economic and social development, and it all begins with inspiring initiatives such as this,” said Ian Lafrenière, Minister Responsible for Relations with the First Nations and the Inuit.
The project aims to stimulate innovation and skills development in the digital field by offering exploratory sessions on core skills related to careers of tomorrow to First Nations and Inuit students.
The program is divided into four interactive presentations with the following themes:
- Discovery of the field of molding, from prehistory to 3D printing
- Introduction to design
- Introduction to the world of textiles and fashion
- Introduction to the world of electronics, from signals to circuits
The project opens the discussion on careers of tomorrow: which careers are more meaningful for youth, useful to their community and to society, are connected to tangible reality and perpetuate know-how in the territories. The project creates opportunities for youth to innovate, whether that is in the forest, to preserve their culture or to safeguard the territory.
By preparing youth for digital fabrication through “making”, and by integrating environmental challenges, Fab Labs innovate and reinvent the know-how. Fab Labs already inspire careers of tomorrow, careers that bind together both digital and traditional activities and that are determined by digital potential but also by major societal concerns.
Communautique has been working for 23 years to democratize access to technologies in a perspective of sustainable, economic and social development. Communautique is also the first to implement Living Labs and is at the origin of the Fab Lab movement in Québec.
