Description

Creative problem solving

Purpose

This one-day interactive workshop will help participants discover new ways of being and thinking in order to reconnect with their creative sparks.

Description

Inspired by concrete examples from participants’ work contexts, we will present techniques that they can immediately put into practice in their organizations, in order to actively participate in generating new ideas for the company.

By adjusting their perspectives, participants will learn to see challenges as opportunities to make good use of their curiosity and to stimulate their creativity. They will learn how to approach issues differently, by being more effectively involved in discovering new solutions for the present and future in their respective contexts. Finally, they will learn how to present their ideas and recommendations to better effect.

Objectives

The starting point for cultivating innovation is to provide participants with a space where they can test new ways of reflecting on the challenges of their workplaces, and how to respond to those challenges. The theoretical notions and proposed methods will be put into practice immediately to ensure participants’ integration of learning.

Methods

Using the “InnoveLab” method, participants will be able to understand and apply the five steps of the basic “From Problem to Solution” process:
– Context: understanding the issue
– Mindset: the essential conditions for creativity
– The ideation process
– The selection of ideas
– The art of presenting ideas coherently

Contents

Participants will be asked to read preparatory texts, reflect on them and answer a few questions in preparation for the workshop. By embarking on their individual reflections in advance, they will be able to make the most of the day’s training since they will already have in mind individual challenges or a common challenge they currently face in the company.

The “InnoveLab” method will help participants identify and acknowledge their limiting thoughts so they can open themselves up to new possibilities. They will learn and experience a “From Problem to Solution” process that is simple and effective. They will learn how to choose the most appropriate solutions and understand how to present them.

The basic “From Problem to Solution” process of the “InnoveLab” method proposes the following five subjects of discussion:
– Context: understanding the issue
– Mindset: the essential conditions for creativity
– The ideation process
– The selection of ideas
– The art of presenting ideas coherently
